OpenVMS Network Transports and Applications

This course provides the student of OpenVMS system management an overview of how to organize networks and OpenVMS with the object of making them work together to provide a productive environment for the users, operators, programmers and system managers. This overview investigates a number of possibilities for organizing networking protocols and applications for security, efficency, and productivity.

The lab systems available to the student will be in a network with various tools to evaluate the operation of the network as it relates to OpenVMS and its management.

  • Managing Terminal Servers and Modems

OBJECTIVE:

Develop the skills necessary to understand the tradeoffs of various network technologies as used in the management of networked OpenVMS environment.
